POSITION SUMMARY
The Clinical Research Nurse is a competent clinician who utilizes the nursing process and current clinical knowledge to provide professional nursing care. Assesses, plans, implements and evaluates patient’s physical, learning and psychosocial care. Coordinates clinical drug and device study protocols using diverse clinical assessment and administrative skills and knowledge, to ensure that the appropriate data is compiled and reported, protocol and regulatory requirements are met, and study participants follow correct steps. Performs highly interactive liaisons with sponsor companies, staff personnel, physicians and study patients. Conducts study protocols in accordance with sponsor requirements, FDA, state regulations and BSR policies and procedures. Provides appropriate clinical assessment of study patient to provide quality care! throughout the study and follow up period. Confidentiality an! d accuracy of all study records will be ensured. Special assignments as required by physicians will be completed.
Job Requirements
1. Skills and proficiency in applying principal, concepts and techniques which are central to the research process.
Masters degree preferred
2. Excellent written and interpersonal communication skills.
3. Proficient in use of Windows based MSOffice (Word and Excel). Familiar with the use of standard office
equipment.
4. Comprehensive understanding of medical terminology.
5. Experience in use of clinical trial protocols preferred.
6. Demonstrates ability to coordinate and prioritize diverse tasks.
7. Ability to interpret data, adapt and apply guidelines of research principals.
8. Five years clinical or related experience.
9. Must possess the knowledge of clinical, psychosocial and path/physiological theories related to nursing
diagnosis and treatment and can competently perform the ran! ge of nursing techniques found in general nursing
practice as normally acquired through completion of an accredited nursing program.
10. Maintains CPR certification.
