Infection Prevention Data Analyst Quality Blue- RN

Location: Fairmont West Virginia

Under the direction of the Infectio! n Preventionist and the Director of Quality Management, is responsible for collection of data and information to identify infections throughout the organization, and facilitate reporting to the Quality Blue database.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• WV Licensed Registered Nurse with Bachelor’s Degree, Master’s Degree preferred
• 2-5 years’ experience in hospital setting
• Possess a broad knowledge of nursing skills, epidemiology and microbiology, and the ability to apply the necessary skills and techniques
• Exhibit the ability to work well with others
• Possess ability to lecture and teach others effectively
• Possess knowledge in basic statistical methods
• Complete APIC Basic Training in Infection Control
• Certification in Infection Control through CBIC preferred.

RESPONSIBILITIES: Demonstrates excellent customer service to both internal and external customers, through positive communic! ations, cooperation, professional behavior and displaying by a! ctions that customer satisfaction is the primary goal of this institution. Adapts to constantly changing healthcare environment by recognizing opportunities for improvement and embracing change to bring about improvements. Exercises independent thinking, judgment, and decision-making and accepts accountability and responsibility for decisions and consequences. Conducts on-going surveillance and documentation of infections in patients utilizing priority-directed, targeted surveillance method. Collects and analytically interprets infection data based on NHSN data and rates. Investigates clusters of infections above expected levels. Develops and implements risk-reduction plans for healthcare-acquired infections. Disseminates information relative to infection control and implements infection control measures recommended by the Infection Control Committee. Submit baseline infection control data as outlined in the Quality Blue manual as required. Participate in Healthcare Infecti! on Prevention indicator teams to implement improvement initiatives as recommended by Quality Blue. Assist in completing Quality Blue Point Prevalence Studies, Progress Reports, Data Collection Tools, and Critical Analysis Templates for each Healthcare Infection Prevention Indicator Works with Quality Blue Project Leaders in completing Quality Blue Project Mid-Year and Year-End assessments. Cross train to Clinical Outcomes as needed
