Open Heart RN - Scrub Nurse

Shift/Schedule:
Days (6:30am-3:00pm) with weekend rotate, 3-5 days of call per week. All RNs need to be flexible in scheduling to the department needs.

The Medical Center is currently looking for a Registered Nurse (RN) - Operating Room - Open-Heart.

Our 521 bed hospital has provided state-of-the art ! medical care for residents of the Roanoke Valley and Southwest Virginia for more than 100 years. We specialize in select health care services, such as cardiac, cancer and maternity care, as well as business health and other ancillary services. This position will play a key part in continuing our success!

Responsibilities:

• Scrubs cases as it relates to the unit scope of care.
• Assists the Registered Nurse with circulating duties.
• Exercises sound judgment and decision making skills on behalf of patient, self, and peers.
• Pursues opportunities to enhance personal and/or professional growth.
• Communicates effectively with staffs, peers, physicians, and other departments.
• Organizes work to complete duties efficiently and effectively.
• Serves as a professional member of the OR team.
• Adheres to hospital policies and procedures, supports the mission of the hospital.

Qualified candidat! es must have Nursing and medical knowledge of equipment and supplies or previous experience as an O.R. nurse.

Specific Qualifications:

• Graduate of accredited school of nursing with
• Current license in the State of VA
• BLS Certification
• ACLS preferred
• Completion of a Perioperative Course preferred
• CNOR preferred
