Southeastern Virginia Training Center is seeking a Training and Instructor Manager to manage a comprehensive facility-wide pre-service, in-service Staff Development and Training Program. The program includes graphics, media, and research services for the training and development of the multidisciplinary clinical, non-clinical and support staff. The incumbent should be knowledgeable of state government, DBHDS, CMS regulations, policies, and procedures pertaining to staff development/t! raining.
- Oversee various functions within th! e training department to include planning, budget development and supervision of departmental staff.
- Manage the employee training data base to ensure training guidelines are met.
- Determine the needs for outside resource utilization and procure required contract of purchased training services or materials.
- Procure consultant services as required to meet specialized needs.
- Provide comprehensive knowledge of training needs assessments.
- Interpret and implement standards and regulations related to staff development and research.
- Evaluate program outcomes relative to staff performance and organizational change.
- Ensure competence of staff that provides training, train new instructors as needed and evaluate trainer performance.
- Function as Educational Liaison with local institutions of higher education for student placement.
- Chair Person-Centered Leadership Team and coordinate relevant activities. !
- Bachelor's degree from a college or university with coursework in Public Administration, Health Education, Education, and/or related field.
- Progressive and extensive experience in adult education.
- Experience in healthcare orientation, education and training.
- Supervisory experience.
- Extensive knowledge and thorough understanding of person-centered practices, residential training and support strategies for persons with disabilities.
- Ability to administer an organizational educational program that includes pre-service and on-going initiatives.
- Licensure as Registered Nurse
- Upper Management experience
- Ability to be certified as AED instructor.
- TOVA Trainer and Basic Life Support Trainer.
