The Technical Assistant provides patient services including the performance of patient care related tasks, data collection, phlebotomy and IV skills, utilizing appropriate patient care techniques. The Technical Assistant maintains supplies and equipment, assists with clerical duties and chart maintenance and applies the principles of safety and infection control. The staff member will be able to demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide services appropriate to the age of the patients served. The employee will be able to access data reflective of the patient’s status and interpret the information needed to identify each patient’s requirements relative to his or her age, specific needs and to provide services as described in the department’s policies and procedures. Additionally, the Technical Assistant performs all other responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications :
Education,! Training and Experience : High School graduate required. !
Experience : Experience in phlebotomy preferred. Experience in non-invasive cardiovascular testing a plus, but not required. Two years healthcare experience preferred. Current CPR certification.
Additional skills required : Manual dexterity, mechanical skills, understanding of equipment operation and basic patient care skills are an asset.
