Assists in providing basic person centered care to individuals or groups of individuals wi! th intellectual and physical disabilities during recreational and special activities. Also assists in providing therapeutic treatments and other direct care services in accordance with individual or group programs and facility/departmental policies and standards.

Minimum Qualifications

Current Certified Nurse Assistant license issued by VA Dept. of Health Professions; HS Diploma or GED; valid VA Drivers License; successful completion of CVTC Direct Care Staff pre-service training and current in all required facility CORE training; considerable knowledge and experience working with the intellectually and developmentally disabled; ability to meet the other physical and cognitive demands of the position; ability to perform CPR; ability to effectively communicate in verbal and written English; ability to read, understand and carry out individualized client programs; ability to recognize and properly react to medical and behavioral emergencies; ability to work ! weekends and holidays as scheduled and ability to work overtim! e.

Satisfactory results of a state and federal criminal history background check and the Department of Social Service's Child Abuse and Neglect Central Registry check, U.S. HHS IG Exclusion List check, employment reference check, E-Verify, and satisfactory results from your required pre-employment drug test.

Preferred Qualifications

Enrollment in the College of Direct Support (CDS); Personal or home health care experience.
