Practical Nursing I - (Adult Ed.) - Evening/Weekend Class

Description: HCPS - St. Marys School of Practical Nursing is at present recruited Practical Nursing I - (Adult Ed.) - Evening/Weekend Class right now, this position will be placed in Virginia. The individual in this position should have ! an understanding of the diverse needs of students. The teacher should have high expectations of students and provide instruction in a manner that motivates students to learn, raise self-esteem, and result in outcomes important for successful living.

This class will begin on September 3, 2013.
Essential Duties Utilizes multimedia and community resources; utilizes the Curriculum Guide of the school in organizing instructional plans
Provides classroom and clinical instruction for assigned students; secures and prepares instructional materials in advance and shows writtten evidence of preparation
Demonstrates a knowledge of subject matter
Diagnoses and develops plans for the learning problems of students appropriate to the level of achievement
Evaluates progress in classroom and laboratory by observation and testing
Implements all curriculum programs adopted system wide in a positive and efficient manner
Establishes clear objectives for all ! learning experiences and communicates these objectives to stud! ents
Makes use of a variety of resources, materials, and methods in an effort to improve the effectiveness of instruction
Keeps students informed of progress
Keeps required records for student files
Shares information about student progress with coordinator, and faculty
Returns materials to their assigned place or designated personnel promptly after use
Emphasizes and enforces safety factors within the classroom, building, and throughout school property
Acts as a role model for students
Maintains a practice of good housekeeping for self and students to improve the learning environment
Cooperates with administrative and supervisory staff in the evaluation process; performs other duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications
B. S. in Nursing is required; Master's Degree preferred; must be licensed as a Registered Nurse in the state of VA with multi-state privileges ; minimum of two years of clinical experience as a registered nurse requ! ired ; successful teaching experience in practical nursing preferred
