Centra Healthcare Solutions is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) for a Director position that is licensed or in the immediate p! rocess, and qualifies, of obtaining RN licensure in this respective state to work in the specialty area of the Oncology Med/Surg unit.
The Director?s duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Coordinates the financial and clinical operations of assigned area(s) of responsibility and recommends sufficient number of qualified competent persons to provide care. Participates in outside source selection for needed services.
Integrates department services with the hospital?s primary function maintaining communication with medical and nursing staffs, Administration, patients, and their families/significant others. Coordinates and integrates services within department.
Develops and implements policies and procedures that guide and support provision of services and assures staff competency.
Continual assessment and improvement of the department?s performance. Promotes the Quality Management program of the facility, maintaining appropriate quali! ty control programs (where applicable).
Ensures compliance! with regulatory agencies.
Assures that orientation, in-service training, and continuing education are provided for persons in the department.
Develops and participates in goals and objectives for assigned area(s) of responsibility.

Requirements include:
Must have graduated from an accredited school with BSN required. Master's degree preferred.
Current state license as a Registered Nurse (RN) or willing to obtain licensure in another state, assuming that all pre-requisites have been satisfied.
Current CPR certification.
Current BLS and ACLS card.
OCN preferred.
Five (5) years current medical/surgical nursing experience required.
Three (3) ? Five (5) years of oncology/chemo management experience in medical/surgical nursing required.
Duties and Responsibilities
Assesses patient needs, signs and symptoms indicating physiologic and psychosocial changes in the patient's condition
Utilizes the nursing process to asse! ss, plan, implement and evaluate patient care
Collects, analyzes, and interprets data and information from health care members and documents actual and/or potential nursing diagnoses.
Documents the patient's plan of care using identified nursing diagnoses, expected patient outcomes, and selected nursing interventions.
Provides a safe, comfortable and therapeutic patient environment.
Initiates and evaluates patient and/or family education.
Revises and documents the plan of care according to evaluation, changes in medical plan of care, and effective/ineffective nursing interventions.
Monitors the safety and effectiveness of the environment and equipment.
